Benefits of Spica Prunellae Extract:
Antitumor
The research involves many aspects: inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, induction of tumor cell apoptosis, and research on tumor cell invasion ability. Prunella vulgaris can inhibit the proliferation of a variety of cancer cells; the role of JNK and Akt pathways; affect the cell cycle of tumor cells; down-regulate bcl-2, up-regulate bax; can increase the invasion ability of tumor cells. It has inhibitory effect on mouse sarcoma S180 and mouse cervical cancer U14. The decoction can inhibit the growth of Ehrlich ascites carcinoma.
Antihypertensive effect
It has an antagonistic effect on the vasoconstriction induced by norepinephrine. It has the effect of dilating blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. The extract of Prunella vulgaris may exert its antihypertensive effect on SHIR rats by reducing the content of angiotensin Ⅱ and increasing the content of nitric oxide (NO).
hypoglycemic effect
The water extract can reduce postprandial hyperglycemia in normal and alloxan diabetic ICR mice.
Antibacterial effect
The antibacterial effects of different solvent extracts on the tested strains were ethyl acetate>n-butanol>absolute ethanol>water. The minimum inhibitory concentration of ethyl acetate extract to Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus is 2.5mg/mL, the minimum inhibitory concentration to Escherichia coli and Rhizopus is 5.0mg/mL, and the minimum inhibitory concentration to Aspergillus is 10.0mg/mL. Prunella vulgaris extract had no obvious antibacterial effect on Penicillium.
Anti-oxidize effect
Prunella vulgaris extract has good antioxidant properties. The order of the ability of different solvent extracts and BHT to scavenge DPPH is ethyl acetate extract > n-butanol extract > BHT > water extract, and the order of scavenging OH is BHT > ethyl acetate extract > n-butanol Alcohol extract>water extract, the order of O2- scavenging ability is ethyl acetate extract>water extract>BHT>n-butanol extract, and the order of reducing power is BHT>ethyl acetate extract>n-butanol extract Alcoholic extract>water extract. Prunella vulgaris ethyl acetate extract has strong antioxidant activity.
Regulating immune function
Prunella vulgaris extract can enhance the cellular immune function of mice by up-regulating gene transcription level.
Liver protection
Prunella vulgaris has a certain protective effect on acute liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride in mice, and there is no significant difference compared with bifendate.
