Rutin is extracted from sophora japonica bud with green yellow powder with bitter taste, slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in alkaline solvent.

Rutin is a plant pigment that is found in certain fruits and vegetables. Buckwheat, Japanese pagoda tree, and Eucalyptus are sources of rutin.
